Brett is a licensed CPA with over 20 years of progressive accounting and audit leadership experience spanning both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, he has built a strong track record in financial reporting, international compliance, and team development. Most recently, Brett served as Controller for Second Avenue Group (formerly Pacific Oak Residential Inc.), a Single-Family Residential REIT managing approximately 2,100 homes. In this role, he directed day-to-day accounting operations, managed external audits, and oversaw financial reporting and SOX compliance. Prior to this, he spent nine years with FIS on the Global Statutory Reporting team, where he managed a team of senior accountants, led accounting system upgrades, and directed entity integrations for over 200 international subsidiaries. His foundational expertise includes three years in public accounting with Big 4 firm Ernst & Young.

 An Eagle Scout, Brett holds a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Finance from Florida State University. Outside of his professional endeavors, he is an avid traveler who enjoys visiting US National Parks with his family and following football and hockey.
